Where to catch them and what to use for Smallmouth Bass

A lot of lakes hold bass like  Smallmouth bass, but what lakes? Read this paragraph to find out what and where to catch Smallmouth bass.

Lures 

All bass like worms, so that’s why wacky worms are so good. Smallmouth bass eat crayfish, so crayfish lures are deadly. Smallmouth bass like rocky areas to eat crayfish. Crank baits are good to imitate fleeing bait fish. Top waters are so amazing for Smallmouth bass. They imitate frogs and the Smallmouth can scare the poop out of you, if you get a big one.

Places 

Basically, you can fish any where, but ……. here are some lakes in Ontario where you can get a big fish. Lake Simcoe is big and good for Smallmouth bass. For Largemouth bass, Lake Couchiching has got you covered. Smaller bays and inlets have baitfish for Smallmouth and Largemouth to feed on. This is in smaller lakes as well as the big ones.

My dad caught this Smallmouth from our canoe, casting at a dock using a wacky worm.

This Largemouth bass I caught on a salt-imbedded curly tail in a small lake up at my cottage in the Muskokas.
