The legendary lure for bass
Hey guys, want to find ways to catch smallmouth bass like crazy? Well read this and find out.
Hello and welcome back to Take a kid fishing. Today I will be talking about the legendary lure for bass , and that lure is a wacky worm! Wacky worms are an amazing bait for smallmouth and largemouth bass.
Why
Wacky worms imitate a worm. Bass can go crazy for a nice, big, juicy, dew worm.
How to use them
You can’t really work them wrong but the way that works for me is this: First when you cast let it sink to the bottom, then twitch it 3 times, then reel 2 times, and after that let it sink again. Then repeat until your cast ends.
Where
Cast at pockets* in weedy areas for largemouth bass. If you’re going for smallmouth bass, cast at rocks.
*pockets are a place where there are not a lot of weeds on the surface.
This is a smallmouth that I caught up where my cottage is on a wacky worm. See the wacky worm in the smallmouth’s mouth. That wacky worm has salt in it. Salt is very good because it tastes like blood and it attracts fish like crazy.
These were two smallmouth bass that we caught on wacky worms. Then we had a fish fry and ate them!

Nice work Austin!
Me and my boys have been trying wacky worms this year for the first time. We’ve had a lot of action, but unfortunately have probably lost more of those fish than we landed. Just wondering if you have any tips on how to hook and land more of those bass that go for our wacky rigs? Also wondering… do you add any weight to your wacky rig?
